*Dar es Salaam, Tanzania | 16 September 2026*
The *Blue Economy Alliance of Tanganyika (BEAT)* was represented by two of its young representatives, *Gloria Daniel Lyimo and Yasser Yusuf,* at the *Tanzania Green Summit 2026,* held from *15–16 September 2026* at Mlimani City Conference Centre, Dar es Salaam.
Held under the theme *“Turning Climate Action into Opportunity,”* the Summit brought together stakeholders from government, civil society, the private sector, development institutions, environmental organizations, innovators and young people to advance practical approaches to climate action, sustainable development and green economic opportunities.
For BEAT, participation provided an important opportunity for our young representatives to strengthen their exposure to national discussions on *climate resilience, environmental sustainability, green and blue economies, innovation, youth participation and sustainable livelihoods.*
Gloria and Yasser represented BEAT’s commitment to ensuring that *young people are not only beneficiaries of development, but active participants in shaping solutions, representing their communities and building partnerships for sustainable development.*
Their participation also provided an opportunity to introduce BEAT and its emerging work in *sustainable fisheries, aquatic ecosystem conservation, climate resilience, community water safety, and livelihood opportunities for women and youth,* particularly in Lake Tanganyika communities and Tanzania’s wider aquatic ecosystems.
Members of BEAT leadership were also present during the Summit *in support of our young representatives,* providing encouragement and engaging informally with participants.
For BEAT, participation in Tanzania Green Summit 2026 represents another important step toward *active engagement, partnership building and practical community-level action.*
👏🏽 We congratulate *Gloria Daniel Lyimo and Yasser Yusuf* for representing BEAT and carrying our vision at this important national platform.
